In Mabel’s practice she plays with the idea of control, both taking and letting go of it.
With this approach she investigates themes as the ones of identity, duality and perception.
Dreamscapes of fractioned reality offer new perspectives on fixed notions, in an attempt to disrupt the hierarchical and polarised
pre-given system of interpretation of symbols, subjects and behaviours.
Everything must be allowed if wanted to be truly understood, her photography consist of “in-betweens”, moments and spaces leave traces on the material which are now only a suggestion, perhaps an invitation to look further into something, to stay longer.
